Art from the Heart

This is the digital exhibition of artworks and message from children all over the world prepared by the Children's Advisory Team of Child Rights Connect. The goal is to support the discussion at the Annual Day on the Rights of the Child at the UN Human Rights Council about children in armed conflict by showing how children see the world, how conflict affects them, and what they want adults and decision makers to do to protect them.

Children’s voices matter. Their views matter. Even, and especially, in times of war. When children are listened to, peace becomes possible.

English Translation

Mixed emotions crowded the mind of the beautiful young woman who had just arrived in her birthplace, Gaza.

She felt a surge of longing and nostalgia, mingled with pain and heartbreak. She had left her city at the age of fourteen, and now she was returning as a vibrant young woman in her thirties.

Everything had changed. The houses had become beautiful and towering, the streets were clean and lit with electricity, and the spacious shops and large malls were bustling with residents and visitors.

On the seashore, people sat enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the sea.

Along her way, Al-Shifa Hospital appeared, and she felt immense pride at the presence of modern, advanced medical equipment.

The schools were brimming with students, and the universities were crowded with seekers of knowledge.

Gaza had become beautiful and flourishing—the radiant Gaza, that dreamy city rising through its science and development.

It was then that Amal decided to open her own small project in her neighborhood, to contribute to the development of her beautiful city.
