Art from the Heart

This is the digital exhibition of artworks and message from children all over the world prepared by the Children's Advisory Team of Child Rights Connect. The goal is to support the discussion at the Annual Day on the Rights of the Child at the UN Human Rights Council about children in armed conflict by showing how children see the world, how conflict affects them, and what they want adults and decision makers to do to protect them.

Children’s voices matter. Their views matter. Even, and especially, in times of war. When children are listened to, peace becomes possible.

English Translation

The Gaza I want; Gaza, I want you laughing and happy, with your schools filled with students and joy. I want every child to learn in freedom and safety, and every home to be full of laughter and dreams. I want your gardens to be full of colors and flowers, and for there to be games in the streets and squares. I want every person to live with dignity, love, and hope—without fear, without anxiety, without exhaustion, without missiles, and without planes that ravage the earth.

I want your trees to be always green, and every corner of Gaza to be filled with light and happiness. I want the dreams of children and youth to bloom like flowers. Gaza, you are the beat of my heart and my dream; we will build a beautiful tomorrow for you with hope and love. We will see the laughter of children everywhere—in every school, in every square, and in every home.

Gaza, I want you clean and safe, your glory shining and your pride flowing through every heart. Gaza, you are the love, the hope, and the future, and we will carry your dreams to the world with pride and joy”.
