Art from the Heart

This is the digital exhibition of artworks and message from children all over the world prepared by the Children's Advisory Team of Child Rights Connect. The goal is to support the discussion at the Annual Day on the Rights of the Child at the UN Human Rights Council about children in armed conflict by showing how children see the world, how conflict affects them, and what they want adults and decision makers to do to protect them.

Children’s voices matter. Their views matter. Even, and especially, in times of war. When children are listened to, peace becomes possible.

English Translation

Dear children of Catatumbo,

I am Gerard, and we are very sorry about the situation you are going through.
If I were living in that conflict, my house would be destroyed, and I would feel very sad and very scared. I wouldn’t have entertainment, nor water, nor food.

I wish that there were more aid for these conflicts. That humanitarian help would provide food, shelter, and everything necessary to survive in all the countries that are at war, such as Ukraine, Gaza, Syria, or ours, unfortunately.

Let’s hope that in the future this conflict ends and that there is peace and health.

With much affection,
Gerard
