Art from the Heart

This is the digital exhibition of artworks and message from children all over the world prepared by the Children's Advisory Team of Child Rights Connect. The goal is to support the discussion at the Annual Day on the Rights of the Child at the UN Human Rights Council about children in armed conflict by showing how children see the world, how conflict affects them, and what they want adults and decision makers to do to protect them.

Children’s voices matter. Their views matter. Even, and especially, in times of war. When children are listened to, peace becomes possible.

English Translation

I am writing this letter from Veracruz, Mexico.

Mainly, I want to express my condolences regarding the situation you are going through; I want you to know that all of us know how unfair your situation is and that you do not deserve even a fraction of the suffering you are currently living through. However, we beg you to resist in the face of the threat, because within you resides the hope of the world. Your resistance and your victory symbolize that all evil can and must be overcome, and that regardless of the magnitude or the defeats, good, hope, and justice always win.
