Art from the Heart

This is the digital exhibition of artworks and message from children all over the world prepared by the Children's Advisory Team of Child Rights Connect. The goal is to support the discussion at the Annual Day on the Rights of the Child at the UN Human Rights Council about children in armed conflict by showing how children see the world, how conflict affects them, and what they want adults and decision makers to do to protect them.

Children’s voices matter. Their views matter. Even, and especially, in times of war. When children are listened to, peace becomes possible.

Me llamo Kawtar y tengo 15 años. Vivo en un pueblo de la Costa Brava llamado… Mi sueño es ser farmacéutica.

Aunque no nos conocemos, lo siento mucho por lo que estáis pasando. Sé que ustedes son muy importantes. Y quería decirles que en la vida hay momentos difíciles pero dentro de cada uno sí pueden lograr algo.

Son soñadores, valientes, alegres y tienen el poder de cambiar su país porque ustedes son la historia del mundo. Me encantaría saber de ustedes. Colombia es un país hermoso con su propia cultura y tradiciones únicas.

Les mando mucho cariño, fuerza y un abrazo enorme desde aquí. Tienen un futuro brillante por delante; nadie les deje de decir que no puedes.

Mucha suerte en la vida.

English Translation

My name is Kawtar and I am 15 years old; I live in a town on the Costa Brava called ❤️ Blanes. My dream is to be a pharmacist.

Although we do not know each other, I am very sorry for what you are going through and I wanted to tell you that you are very important. I know that in life there are difficult moments, but I also know that within each one of you there is an enormous strength. You are brave, cheerful, dreamers, and you have a bright future ahead. Never let anyone tell you that you cannot achieve something, because you can. You have the power to change your story, your country, and the world.

I would love to know the dream of each one of you. Colombia is a beautiful country, with its own unique culture and traditions, and you are the soul and the joy of that country.
