The conflicts that swept through her life, and the armed conflict that stole her safety and peace, have left within her a deep psychological pain that cannot be seen with the eye. The effects of war were not only around her, but inside her as well accumulated fear and a memory burdened with trauma. That hand covering her mouth is not merely a gesture, but a symbol of the oppression imposed on her, of a voice prevented from being heard, and of pain forced to remain suppressed inside her without ever being expressed.

This is Tia 16 years old from Lebanon.
I had previously took part in a joint artwork with my colleague Karam, which I shared through a written message. Today, I am presenting a solo work—a free drawing that reflects the reality of children in general, and girls in particular, living under armed conflict.
