Art from the Heart

This is the digital exhibition of artworks and message from children all over the world prepared by the Children's Advisory Team of Child Rights Connect. The goal is to support the discussion at the Annual Day on the Rights of the Child at the UN Human Rights Council about children in armed conflict by showing how children see the world, how conflict affects them, and what they want adults and decision makers to do to protect them.

Children’s voices matter. Their views matter. Even, and especially, in times of war. When children are listened to, peace becomes possible.

English Translation

I see Gaza tomorrow as a garden of gratitude,

Where science greets gardens and balconies.

Its towers rise — not in tyranny,

But in the quest for knowledge and the dreams of humankind.

In laboratories of light, we open the doors of possibility,

And write upon the glass: Here once stood oppression.

Its streets are green, walking free of smoke,

And the shade of spreading trees brings gentle safety.

It resembles Singapore in its order and architecture,

Yet its heart remains Gazan — borrowed by none, and never humiliated.

Its ports shine with light and security,

Its markets sing with products and colors,

And its cafes embrace the laughter of visitors and friends.

A city of sea, knowledge, and balance —

When it rises, time rises with it… and the place smiles
